The Woes of Worrying

Worry... The name gives a sense of deja vu to everyone...Because, none has been spared by Worries or worrying.... Right from the moment it dawns, and till the moment one gets into deep slumber, one's mind overflows with worries... But the irony is, people these days, worry the most for something that least requires it...

For instance, there's this acquaintance of mine who was more worried about the fact that he didn't have food enough to fill his entire belly rather than worrying about the fact he had to brush up through many lessons when an exam was just two hours away... Or worse still, there's this girl who's much worried about the fact that her "luck" is lost when her supposedly lucky fountain pen along with all the other contents of her stationery collection is missing minutes before her exam.... The latest movie thats supposed to be a "super-duper" hit also echoes this sentiment.. the heroine apparently attempts suicide because her pet, a pug, was lost and not to mention another super grosser, in which the central character organizes a mourning ceremony when her pet cat died...
The mothers aren't spared too.... If   I take half an hour longer to get home than the stipulated time... All hell breaks down loose... I can't exactly blame my mom.. but still, its not a pleasant sight to see her worried face...
And the kids these days are the most "worried" of the lot...They are not exactly welcome to the idea if the next door kid gets to go 2 rounds extra on the common cycle.. Or if someone nearby is eating an ice cream... Or if their grandmothers, living in a different part of the country visit a place that they liked when they had been with their grandmoms last vacation...
And the list goes on...
I don't think that worrying is itself wrong... All I mean to say is, give importance to worrying only when its necessary... Our mind assumes and visualizes things always.. It spins.. All the time.. If you can follow your thought process, you may understand, about the unnecessary things that you pay extra attention to... You wont even have the slightest clue about how or why you thought about something... But yes, thats an aspect of your mind.. Its a huge train of thoughts...

If you train your mind in the positive sense to think about something out of the blue or innovative... You may probably be the next Da Vinci.... If you fall victim to the train of thoughts.. You can be the worst disaster...

The mind is the most powerful tool in this world.. Creation or Destruction happens only if the mind wills... Thats why extra importance has been given to Chitta Shuddhi or "the purification of mind"...

Just stop worrying about every thing and think... You'd know, that most of the worries are baseless... :)
